General information about Uzda:

The city is known since 1450 as a court yard of Korsaky as a part of Grand duchy Lithuanian. Since XVI century it is a place that belonged to Kavechinsky, to Zavishy. After the second section of Rech Pospolitaya in 1793 Uzda was a part of the Russian empire as the centre of volost of Igumensky district. Since 1924 - the area centre, since 1938 - city settlement, since 1999 - city.
