The city is located in the Grodno region, on the river Schara in 143 kilometres from Grodno.

General information about Slonim:

The first written mention about Slonim was in «Ipatevsky annals» in 1252. For the long-term history in structure of Great duchy Lithuanian, the Russian empire, Poland and in 1939 has been included in structure of BSSR. In the city the set of monuments of architecture and history has remained. The city architecture represents a successful combination of holly and city constructions of the Middle Ages and New time on the one hand, and modern inhabited and administrative building. Slonim is one of the purest, accurate and unusual regional centres of Belarus. In the city the tourist infrastructure is not bad developed. Slonim has developed food and a pulp and paper industry.
